Three Ways to Wear Distressed Denim

I fell in love with a pair of distressed Joe's Jeans recently, and they've already been shown lots and lots of love in my wardrobe. Here are three ways I've been wearing distressed denim this spring.

1. Boho weekend

Comfortable enough for errands, dressed up enough for coffee dates and brunch.

2. Night out

Even when the days are gorgeous, the nights get a little chilly. I've been adding a neutral jacket with a fun ruffle detail to stay warm.

3. Super casual

Yesterday was Opening Day, which is basically a holiday in Cincinnati. I'm excited baseball season is back, and these jeans are laid back enough for the stadium. Comfortable flats make walking around the city a breeze!

How do you style your distressed denim?

White (Night) Out

As much as I love a little black dress, there's something so chic about a night out in all white. I love pairing a statement necklace with these beautiful white cocktail dresses.

Cincy Chic is hosting Night in White next month - the perfect excuse to wear a LWD.  The event is being held at Obscura, my new favorite cocktail lounge downtown.

So perfect for a girls night out! Proceeds from the event go to the Eight Days & One Hour Foundation's Stephen Morsch Nursing Scholarship.

Do you have a favorite LWD?

Ciao Bella

On a whim, I ended up taking an Italian night class once a week around this time last year. I was surrounded by people (easily) twice my age, and the instructor was the most adorable picture of elderly Italian perfection. Listening to him recall stories of his hometown in southern Italy, and speaking the language (poorly) myself, I fell in love with the country.

How could you not? On my trip, I was able to see Naples (briefly), the Amalfi coast, Cinque Terre, Rome, and Venice. I spent some seriously amazing days hiking in the mountains and enjoying the beaches...including the black sand in Minori.

Rome and Venice provided a more cosmopolitan atmosphere, with lots of history and great shopping.

Given my obvious ardor for Italy, it should come as no surprise that I love Kate Spade's newest collection, inspired by Capri. Here are my favorite pieces:

Yoga to Brunch

I have become addicted to yoga classes, especially on the weekends. There is no better way to end a busy week than with an amazing and challenging class. I'm even working towards my goal of mastering a handstand! Obviously, there are other weekend activities I love as well - primarily brunch and shopping. Inspired by Styled Snapshots, I created this fall-appropriate transition look to go from yoga class to brunch in just a few minutes.

Yoga to Brunch

I am loving Essie's "miss fancy pants" on my nails lately. It's edgy and versatile without being super dark and dramatic. I think lululemon offers the best fabrics and styles for yoga wear, especially this Ebb to Street bra. It's totally seamless and made of moisture-wicking fabric. I don't normally wear TOMS, but I swear every girl in yoga class comes to the studio in these. I might have to get a pair!

For the brunch look, I love this sweater from J. Crew. It's a little longer in the back, so if you aren't into wearing yoga pants out in public, it has got you covered. Add some Tory Burch riding boots and jewelry from C. Wonder and Kate Spade and you're ready to go. Happy brunching/shopping/sweating!

Color Profile: Gold and Black

It all started with a pair of Reva flats. I lusted after the iconic Tory Burch shoes for a while before I  purchased them. I'm so glad I did, because I wear them constantly during the fall and winter months. While Revas come in a dizzying array of colors, my heart was set on the gold and black style.

In lieu of following the "it" colors for fall, I'm currently attracted to the simplicity of gold, black, and tortoiseshell pieces. The black and gold combination makes me feel instantly pulled together, even if I'm just working on my computer at Starbucks.

I recently had my ears re-pierced, so I'm going a little earring crazy right now! I absolutely love the studs pictured below (C. Wonder and Tory Burch can do no wrong). I also have a thing for bows (sorority girl problems?) and love the kate spade pieces. If anyone wants to buy me that bag, I won't resist too strongly.

All Ears

I feel like a 13 year old girl saying this, but....I got my ears pierced! Again. For the third time. Thanks to my super-human body that happens to heal every injury ridiculously quickly, the first two times didn't work out so well. Today I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to give it another try.  I'm only mildly embarrassed that the 11 year old in front of me was less nervous. And that my fiancĂ© had to hold my hand the entire time. And that I was rewarded with a cookie afterwards for my bravery. Whatever.  Redheads are supposed to have low pain tolerance, right? Now that I got that part over with, I'm enjoying looking at all the pretty new jewelry I'd love to own:

Where else should I shop?
