Friday Five

1. The Many Shoes of Carrie Bradshaw from Pop Chart Lab
I got a surprise in the mail yesterday, in the form of this print! I am (shamelessly) still in love with Sex and the City. The print has 50 pairs of hand-illustrated shoes from all the iconic scenes. I'll be adding it to my gallery wall as a daily reminder that really great shoes can make life just a little more fun.

2. Lonely Lingerie
I stumbled across Lonely Lingerie and love their delicate designs, like this Sabel bra in cobalt.

3. Quote
It's no secret I'm addicted to quotes. This one popped up on Pinterest, and I thought it was a lovely sentiment.

4. Elizabeth Mayville print
Simple, pretty, and bright - this print (available from Design Darling) will be another great addition to my apartment.

5. Kenneth Jay Lane Weave Cuff
This cuff (on sale!) would be a fun addition to spring and summer looks. It strikes the perfect balance of intricacy and simplicity.

What's on your radar this week? Happy Friday!

Rachel

White (Night) Out

As much as I love a little black dress, there's something so chic about a night out in all white. I love pairing a statement necklace with these beautiful white cocktail dresses.

Cincy Chic is hosting Night in White next month - the perfect excuse to wear a LWD.  The event is being held at Obscura, my new favorite cocktail lounge downtown.

So perfect for a girls night out! Proceeds from the event go to the Eight Days & One Hour Foundation's Stephen Morsch Nursing Scholarship.

Do you have a favorite LWD?

My New Favorite Jewelry

When it comes to jewelry, I am a less-is-more kind of girl. You'll often see me wearing pearl studs and perhaps a simple necklace, but I rarely add more baubles than that. I enjoy supporting independent designers, so I was thrilled to receive a surprise from 9th & Elm.

They couldn't have selected more perfect pieces for me. Those pearl studs of mine got a badass upgrade -  9 mm bullets. Pearls are so very ladylike that adding them to bullet jewelry makes me smile. You can find the earrings I'm wearing below here, but there are a ton of great bullet jewelry pieces too.

Blame it on my Texan roots or sorority life, but I love a good monogram. Although monograms fill my apartment, they hadn't crept into my jewelry box - until now. I am in love with this gold monogram necklace and I'm so touched that the lovely people at 9th & Elm thought of me.

Rachel

Bauble Bar Sorority Collection

Bauble Bar is a fantastic, affordable place to find jewelry. They just released a line of sorority pieces, which I am SO excited about! I can definitely picture these being great Big/Little gifts. They have a wide variety too, so every girl is bound to find something she likes.

See the full collection here!

Were you in a sorority? Get in touch with me - I love meeting other sorority women!

Color Profile: Gold and Black

It all started with a pair of Reva flats. I lusted after the iconic Tory Burch shoes for a while before I  purchased them. I'm so glad I did, because I wear them constantly during the fall and winter months. While Revas come in a dizzying array of colors, my heart was set on the gold and black style.

In lieu of following the "it" colors for fall, I'm currently attracted to the simplicity of gold, black, and tortoiseshell pieces. The black and gold combination makes me feel instantly pulled together, even if I'm just working on my computer at Starbucks.

I recently had my ears re-pierced, so I'm going a little earring crazy right now! I absolutely love the studs pictured below (C. Wonder and Tory Burch can do no wrong). I also have a thing for bows (sorority girl problems?) and love the kate spade pieces. If anyone wants to buy me that bag, I won't resist too strongly.

All Ears

I feel like a 13 year old girl saying this, but....I got my ears pierced! Again. For the third time. Thanks to my super-human body that happens to heal every injury ridiculously quickly, the first two times didn't work out so well. Today I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to give it another try.  I'm only mildly embarrassed that the 11 year old in front of me was less nervous. And that my fiancĂ© had to hold my hand the entire time. And that I was rewarded with a cookie afterwards for my bravery. Whatever.  Redheads are supposed to have low pain tolerance, right? Now that I got that part over with, I'm enjoying looking at all the pretty new jewelry I'd love to own:

Where else should I shop?
